Riverside Prep soccer head coach Dr. Mike Giuliano will return to lead the team for a fifth year in 2025-26.
Riverside is having its best year yet under Giuliano. The Eagles are 13-5 and headed to the Elite Eight on Saturday at Tallulah Falls. During his tenure at the Academy, Giuliano is 29-19-1 overall.
“The President wants to build the best boys soccer program in the state, a program that truly helps some of these young men realize their dream of playing soccer in college and even (perhaps) earning an Athletic Scholarship. When you add that to the life changing work that is already happening at Riverside, how could I not say yes to returning another year?” Giuliano said.
“I am in the business of helping these young men become the best version of themselves, and athletics is an incredible tool to make that happen. My role is to guide them in what it looks like to pursue excellence in every facet of their lives.”
One of Giuliano’s current players, Knox Kilpatrick of Cumming, said his coach is developing him so that he can play when he gets to college.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to play for one of the greatest coaches in American college soccer history, and proud to attend one of the top preparatory academies at Riverside,” Kilpatrick said. “Coach Mike cares about me, my development, and my progress as a student.”
His commitment to competitive excellence and student-athlete development has made Giuliano one of the most decorated coaches in collegiate soccer. He currently also coaches the women’s soccer team at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville.
Since arriving at GGC in 2017, Giuliano has guided the Grizzlies to unprecedented success, including all seven conference titles in program history, a school-record 17 wins in 2018, and a historic trip to the NAIA Round of 16.
He owns an 88-55-19 record at GGC and has coached 17 All-Americans and 85 All-Conference players throughout his career.
Giuliano holds a career record of 486-212-71 across nearly 30 years at the NAIA and NCAA levels. His teams have won four national championships and Giuliano is an eight-time national Coach of the Year and 17-time conference Coach of the Year.
