Frequently Asked Questions

List of 5 items.

  • What is the applicant criteria?

Applicants must be boys either currently in or entering 6th-12th grades. Applicants must be academically capable of participating in a college preparatory curriculum, physically capable of participating in marching and military activities, and amenable to the disciplined life inherent in the military model of education.
  • What is the application fee?

The non-refundable $100 application fee must be paid once an application has been submitted. However, the application fee is waived if the applicant attends one of our public events such as a Parent Mixer, Local Area Meet & Greet, Campus Open House, or Campus Tour.
  • What supporting documents are required to complete the application?

We evaluate applications independently one from another and case-by-case, so some may require more documentation than others. Every application, however, will require the basic five documents: three letters of recommendation (Principal or Counselor, English Teacher, and Math Teacher), a discipline report, and a copy of his Transcripts. Once an application has been submitted, the documents become available and families can send the requests directly to their current school from our website. Your admissions counselor will alert you to any further supplemental documentation required to complete your application.
  • When should I apply?

When there is still space available in the Corps, Riverside offers a rolling admissions policy. Given the large number of applications that we receive for Fall each year, we encourage families considering fall enrollment to submit an application as early as possible.
  • How long does the application process take?

The time can vary from applicant to applicant, usually due to the differences in responsiveness at different schools. However, once we receive all supporting documents and the application is complete, we usually have a decision in less than 72 hours. The Admissions Staff is here to help you through the process. We will work with you every step of the way, and keep you informed of how things are progressing.
