Riverside Prep expands college pathways through new admissions agreement with UNG

Riverside Preparatory Academy has strengthened its long-standing relationship with the University of North Georgia through a newly revised memorandum of understanding that will provide preferred admissions and leadership scholarship opportunities for up to five Riverside graduates each year.

The agreement, signed this week by Riverside Prep President Robert Brittain Daniel, J.D., and LTG (R) James L. Terry, senior vice president and superintendent of UNG’s Cadet Leadership Academy, guarantees admission and awards $3,500 leadership scholarships to up to five qualifying Riverside cadets who meet or exceed UNG’s established Cadet Admissions criteria.

This enhanced partnership underscores the value colleges and military institutions place on the discipline, structure, and character development that define a Riverside education. Seniors at Riverside Prep benefit from the academy’s evolved military model, rigorous academic environment, and emphasis on well-rounded personal growth. Graduates consistently demonstrate leadership, resilience, and integrity—traits that have helped Riverside alumni succeed at post-secondary institutions across the nation and internationally.

“Riverside graduates stand out because they enter college already equipped with the habits, mindset, and sense of responsibility that higher education demands,” Daniel said. “UNG’s continued recognition of our cadets’ readiness reflects the strength of our program and the quality of young men we are proud to send into the world. We are grateful for this partnership and pleased to offer our students another strong pathway to higher education.”

In addition to the UNG program, similar agreements are already in place with Brenau University, The Citadel, Georgia Military College, Norwich University, and Virginia Military Institute.

Cadets interested in pursuing opportunities through these partner institutions are encouraged to meet with Riverside’s college counselor to review requirements and begin the application process. Parents with questions may contact the College Counseling Office at collegecounseling@riversideprep.org.
