Felipe A. Valls, Sr. - 1950

The Miami Herald compared him to Midas when they called him the man with the golden touch because every business in which he is involved with is a success. His best known restaurant, Versailles, was followed by the well-known chain of Cuban restaurants, La Carreta. The Valls family employs around 2,000 people and their businesses also include The Casa Juancho Restaurant, commercial real estate ventures, and various businesses at the Miami International Airport. He was honored as Riverside's Distinguished Alumnus in 2015.
