The Moreira family is the largest single-source producer, marketer, and distributor of shrimp coming from South and Central America. He is a founding member and former director of the Cuban American National Foundation and the former head of the Free Cuba Political Action Committee. In December of 2010, he was honored by Florida Southern College (FSC) with a degree of Honorary Doctor of Business.
