Military Ball Requirement

Dear parents and families,
 
Military Ball is a Riverside tradition that allows us to celebrate our senior cadets and JROTC successes and allows our seniors to pass the leadership mantle to junior cadets ceremonially. This spring, Military Ball will be held 5:30-10 pm on Saturday, April 22, and we are pleased to announce Medal of Honor Recipient and Iraq War Veteran SSG (R) David G. Bellavia as our guest speaker. Kindly note from 4:30 - 5:45 pm, Natalae La Douceur will be available at the canons for photographs. All photos will be uploaded to Waldo for viewing. 
 
Please review the following details regarding your son’s attendance and opportunities for parents:
 
  • For all juniors and seniors, Military Ball is MANDATORY and will serve as a grade for their Military Science class. Attendance is required, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Underclassmen have the option to attend.
  • Cadets may attend individually or with a date. (See invitation). The cost for all participating cadets is $55 and for their dates is $25. The fee of $25 also covers the cost of corsages for dates. That fee is non-refundable if a cadet brings his corsage.
  • Cadets will dress in formal attire. Modest, formal attire is appropriate for their dates, which includes full or tea-length gowns that are not revealing.
  • Parent opportunities:
    • Volunteering to help set up. If you are interested in setting up/decorating for the event on the morning of Saturday, 4/22, email kmoon@riversideprep.org.
    • Observing senior cadets during the Saber Arch tradition held on McClendon Quad at 6 pm.
    • Parents will have the opportunity to enjoy some time together that evening at STAG of downtown Gainesville. You will receive more information from the office of Parent Engagement.
  • You may sign your cadet out at the conclusion of the military ball (10 pm). 
  • Please register your cadet and his date by April 7 by completing this registration form.
